Trying while tired

I have definitely learned a lot more than I thought I would. I’ve learned how a reporter introduces themselves at press conferences, what settings are best on a camera when you are taking photos inside and outside, and the different angles and shots a news photographer takes when it comes to filming a story package. Wide shots, medium shots, tight shots, super tight shots, action shots, reaction shots, and capture-the-moment shots; Who knew there were so many names for different video shots?!?

Here’s a photo I took on the Academic Mall.

But of course learning all these new techniques can definitely drain your energy. We come into the news room at 8 in the morning, and we don’t get out until 9 p.m. (with breaks in between of course). I think it’s safe to say we are all tired when we begin but as the day goes on our brain gears start to get going and we are off to the races and ready to learn more about the journalism field.
