Feeling like a news anchor

Yesterday we had the opportunity to feel like real news anchors and give a brief news report either as an anchor or the weatherman. We all rotated jobs and I started out with working the teleprompter. After that I learned how to use the camera, and then used the camera. I also got to see how the control room works, and then finally I got to be one of the anchors! It was terrifying because being on film and speaking in front of people is hard for me, but I’m proud that I was able to overcome it.

We also went to Newsday and I’m sure I speak for many when I say that seeing and speaking to some of the Newsday staff really inspired us. Going to Newsday made my dreams of being a journalist seem a lot more real than they did before.

And finally, we went to the Ducks game in the afternoon and covered a news story! I don’t want to say too much about it since there will be an article and video package up soon I did get some great pictures of the fireworks in between the two games since it was a double header.
