Another day, another lesson. Today, at the Robert W. Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists, the Greene Team took on news anchoring, and the control room! The first job I took on was graphics, and making sure the right animations came on at the right time. Since this was very new to me, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I soon got in the flow of things after doing two run-throughs and loved working in the control room! The funnest part definitely was being an anchor. Prior to this program, I never thought of being in front of a camera. It’s not that it was outside of my comfort zone, but it was never in my designated career path. I was able to record with Haru Dukanac, as we easily flowed through the script with no complications. Beforehand, I was a little nervous but, once I was in front of the camera, it came naturally to me! I loved talking and taking part of a big role like a news anchor, which I might consider in the near future!
